Fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and fire hose reels are essential measures of protection for any business. Reducing the risk of fire in your building is great, but having the necessary equipment will protect your business if a fire does occur. Having extinguishing equipment on standby will minimise property damage and increase the chances of containing small fires quickly.
Your fire protection testing obligations will vary based on the nature of your business and which equipment you have available. In most workplaces, testing needs to occur every 12 months in accordance with NZS 4503:2005 (some environments may be six monthly). If you have a specific enquiry about your testing requirements, get in touch with one of team members. We would be more than happy to discuss your specific business needs.
We can perform fire extinguisher testing so that when you need it most, it works exactly the way it’s supposed to. Fire extinguisher testing is mandatory and is carried out by our fully trained technicians as outlined in NZS 4503:2005. According to the standard for hand operated fire-fighting equipment, your fire extinguishers need to be inspected every 12 months. You may need to test your equipment more frequently if your business environment is classified as ‘hazardous’. Take a look at the NZS 4503:2005 for more information, or contact our team if you have any questions.
